Willamalane parks, pools, and community centers keep Springfield thriving. Without the Willamalane Levy, many of these spaces and programs would be cut back, closed, or fall into disrepair. Voting YES protects our parks.

This is the first time Willamalane has sought a local option levy for general operations since its permanent tax rate was set.

Voting yes for Willamalane's ballot measure in the May 19, 2026 election will help fund these programs and services:

Restoring habitat, and clearing brush and invasive species that helps prevent wildfires, improve water quality, and protect wildlife.

Picking up trash and reducing illegal dumping in parks and natural areas through regular maintenance and park ranger visits to improve safety and keep parks clean.

Regular visits to parks, trails, and natural area, including landscaping, mowing, preventative maintenance, and new plantings.

Why it matters NOW

Springfield loves our parks; we can’t afford to lose our public spaces when people are relying on them more than ever.

Willamalane parks and facilities see more than 1 million visitors each year. To keep up with demand for programs and services and maintenance needs, additional funding is needed. Revenues aren't keeping up with current rising costs and inflation. It's simply no longer possible to continue current services without additional funding.

Willamalane has already made cuts to its budget. Any more cuts will force closures and eliminate programs for those who need them most.

What it Costs
$4.10 per month

This is a modest, temporary increase that will keep the services, programs, and maintenance our community values.

This measure is estimated to cost $4.10 per month (or $49.20 annually). This is based on a median assessed value of $196,803 and a levy tax rate of $0.25 per $1,000 of assessed value.

Accountability and Oversight

Willamalane has been a good steward of public dollars for over 80 years.

The appointed budget committee would review how levy funds are implemented, providing citizen oversight and transparency into the process.
Levy expenditures would also be reviewed by the elected board, along with public disclosure of all levy spending, an independent audit, and monthly financial reporting.
